Honor Flags Celebration Event
The Honor Flags celebration is presented to the public by the founding members of the Hearts for Children Foundation, Inc. organization and the Board of Directors.
The Honor Flags celebration is designed to create and build an annual community event that acknowledges those persons who, and organizations that, have positively influenced our lives while respecting and honoring the Flag Day concept.
Celebration Details: 2022
The 1st annual Honor Flags celebration will be held from June 11th – June 20, 2022. Depending upon the demand, up to 500 – or more – full size (3’ x 5’) American Flags will be flown on 7-foot flagpoles in the Field of Honor which will be located on the grounds of the Wake Forest Historical Museum on 414 North Main Street.
The individual or corporate partner will be able to recognize one honoree for every flag adopted. A medallion will be hung on a flagpole with the name of the adopter, the honoree’s name and a brief comment about the honoree (i.e. relationship to the adopter, military rank, and era(s) of service, etc.).
Flag adopters, community members and business owners will be able to walk through the Field of Honor at any time during the celebration to find their honoree(s)’ medallion(s). Supporters and partners will be instructed on how to locate each medallion.
Shortly after the conclusion of the celebration event, the Honor Flags committee members and volunteers will remove the community sponsored medallions from their respective flagpoles and return the medallions to the partner as a memorial keepsake or to be given to the honoree.
Honor Flag Partner Details
Honor Flags partners fall into two (2) categories:
Individual Sponsorship Partners
Individual Partners (“Adopters”) are community residents and businesses “(members”) who wish to honor their hero(es). One or more heroes can be named by the Adopter and a separate medallion with the individual hero(es)’ name will be attached to the adopted flag for the celebration period.
Corporate Sponsorship Partners
Business organizations can also help to support the Honor Flags celebration by becoming a financial partner with their tax-deductible contribution. Depending upon the contribution made, the corporate sponsor may be entitled to various social media acknowledgements, a banner at the Field of Honor and other sponsorship privileges.

You can honor each of these people or a business organization by sponsoring a flag in their memory or honor.
